RETURN TO SCHOOL
As mentioned on our website, the Department has announced that all NSW government schools are returning to full face to face teaching on Monday 25th May. Online / offline packs will no longer be used and teachers will resume regular classroom teaching.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we have been working through next week’s organisation and our end of Term 2 plan with our teachers.
Below is the organisational information you need to know for our Cardiff North Public School return to face to face learning. Please do not hesitate to phone the school for further information should you need it. Our office staff are more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
Kiss and Drop
Cardiff North Public School is maintaining Kiss and Drop protocols for pick up and drop off with two exit gates in the afternoon and one in the morning. The gates your child will need will be sent to you in a SEESAW message today. Below is the general information.
Drop Off
In the morning all students will use the Wansbeck Valley Road gate. Staff will be on gate duty to assist students to enter the school. All adults dropping students to school or picking students up from school MUST maintain social distancing in line with current health guidelines. Please share these protocols with relatives or friends who may be assisting you with your child’s transport to and from school. Please be aware that current health guidelines mean that there can be no congregating of adults at entry or exit points of the school. We appreciate your assistance with this as it is a measure to help keep our community safe.
Pick Up
To assist with social distancing of adults, staggered departure times are in place from Monday 25th May, 2020. Some students will finish school at 2:45pm and others will finish at 2:55pm.
You will get a SEESAW message today letting you know what time your child will finish school and which gate you should pick them up from.
The two gates we are using are the front gate on Wansbeck Valley Road and the side gate on the path along the school near the canteen.
Recess and lunch times
We are also doing staggered recess and lunch times.
K-2 will be eating lunch at 10:40am and having recess at 1:30pm.
3-6 will be eating lunch at 11:00am and having recess at 1:50pm.
Volunteers
As per Departmental guidelines, no volunteers may be on site at this time.
Canteen / Packed Lunch, Recess & Water
Our canteen remains closed. Please remember to pack lunch, recess and a water bottle for your children every day. Bubblers are only to be used to fill water bottles.
Uniform Shop
Our uniform shop is open with online ordering only.
Assemblies / Parliament
No assemblies or parliament sessions are to be held in the hall. Students’ success will be celebrated with awards handed out in class once a fortnight. Photos of these will be posted to Seesaw. Our Parliamentarians will be running a modified version of Parliament where they will ‘check in’ with each class rather than as a whole school.
Excursions / Incursions
No excursions or incursions can be held at this time.
All major excursions have been cancelled for 2020.
Laptops and dongles
If you have arranged to borrow a laptop or dongle from the school, these are to be returned on Monday. Students are to return laptops with their charger, mouse and mouse pad to the office when they arrive at school on Monday morning.
Attendance
All students who are absent from school from Monday May 25th will have normal attendance protocols applied for their absence in line with departmental policy.
Thank you for supporting CNPS with the transition of students returning to full-time learning at school.
Kind Regards,
Allyson Corrigan
